Fantastic way to explore Cathedral Cove! They were extremely helpful and accommodating. Easy walk to the beach, and quick kayak to Cathedral cove. 3 hours is plenty of time to stop and snorkel, as well as enjoy time at Cathedral Cove on the beach.

Perfect. Close to the beach, no hassle, great explanations and very welcoming. We took the 3-hour hire, arrived at the beach past Cathedral Cove within 30 min, spend an hour there and then paddled back. Good fun, three hours is plenty.

We had the best time - Shaun was super helpful advising us where to go on the map and it was beautiful! Didn’t take as long as we thought to Kayak to cathedral cove so had plenty of time to explore, and got lunch at the cafe when we came back! Good value as well would definitely recommend!

  • Rentals available to be booked on this site are for 3 hours.

    For longer rental options please call us on 021 618 083.

  • We have 4 three hour booking periods throughout the day:

    • Sunrise: 6:00am - 9:00am
    • Morning: 9.15am - 12:15am
    • Afternoon: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
    • Sunset: 4.15pm - 7:15pm

    For longer rental options please call us on 021 618 083.

  • Children must be at least 6 years old and Adults must be under 65 years old.

    Note you must also be able to swim least 50 meters.

  • Hahei Kayak Rentals is located at:

  • Paddle time to Cathedral Cove is around 30 minutes, giving you ample time to pull up on the beach and have a snorkel in the stunning marine reserve.

  • Kayaks are launched from Hahei Beach which is a 50 meter walk from Hahei Kayak Rentals. All kayaks have wheels making this an easy walk.

  • All double kayaks have space for a small child (6-10 years) to sit in between the main 2 passengers - this is free of charge with any double kayak rental.
